Chilean King Crab

SCIENTIFIC NAME: Lithodes antarcticus L. Santolla
CHARACTERISTICS: Benthic Crustacean, that inhabits depths of up to 600 hundred meters and we can find them between the X and XII regions of Chile.
MAIN PRODUCTION LINES: Live King Crab –  whole frozen eviscerated King Crab – cluster – King crab meat.
REGULATION: Extraction only with use of trap and the minimum size allowed for harvest is 8 cm. The months allowed for extraction are July to November with indefinite closed season for females.
